Book Nook- The Power of Yeti

Heidi has a new friend, Betty the Yeti. Betty is all about growth mindset. She is teaching Heidi about the power of ” yet”. What does that mean? Instead of saying, “I can’t do it” you can say, ” I can’t do it yet”

This is called a growth mindset. It keeps the idea of opportunities open. I can’t ride my bike yet, but I can keep trying. I can’t tie my shoes yet, but I can keep trying.

Isn’t it exciting that there are so many opportunities in the world. Imagine how many skills you can learn to ” level up”. What are some skills you are working on?

  • reading
  • math
  • learning about your emotions
  • learning to be a good friend
  • learning to try first then ask for help

More growth mindset information is available on the Big Life Journal site.

Betty is interested in finding more Yeti books to show on this site.

Update, she has already found 4 more books that have Yetis in them.
