I see so much repetition in events in the news. So many things are based on fear and hate. Really, I think it is a lack of correct information and willingness to learn about acceptance. Many “where were you when” events are negative. The start of the gulf war, 9/11, hurricanes, questionable elections, January 6 Capitol attacks, BLM, Covid etc.
The hurricanes get a pass on fear and hate. How people are helped after natural disasters certainly is biased. Who has access to medical services and police protection is biased. Why can one group attack with force and have no police intervention and another group protest legally and peacefully and have tear gas, rubber bullets and arrests used against them. What is our overall goal in life?

People fought for better rights, protection and unions in the 50s and 60s. In the 80s and 90s people got complacent and thought that those benefits of healthcare, vacation time, safe work environment, etc. were just a given. In the 2000s those rights were chipped away and now we have people entering the job force with high student debt and getting jobs with few benefits and low pay. The guarantee of moving up the ladder and getting more pay with more experience is no longer there.
We cannot blame this on a certain group of people, a certain race, religion, gender etc. We need to look at government policy and who we buy from. Giant corporations do not care about their workers. They can wear them out and just get new ones. We need to make some changes in how we take care of our people. Who really benefits by having workers work 18-hour shifts with no breaks or vacation time? If you have no sick time or health insurance, you have workers coming to work sick. They are less productive and spreading their sickness around. Do we want to support businesses that take care of their workers or ones that don’t care about their workers?
